Skincare is my obsession and to me the only real reason why I am looking for a job this coming January. I have had a long struggle with acne, and have ricocheted from long, arduous skincare routines to what I have now; simple and nourishing. If you have normal to oily skin that still feels dehydrated along with moderate acne, you and I are two peas in a sad, sad pod. Nevertheless, these products have (in addition to exercising more regularly and trying to eat more pure foods) have done wonders for balancing my skin.
I start every morning off with a long, calming cleanse with Nude Skincare Purify Cleansing Wash ($35 from Sephora). It smells delicious, like a warm autumn day. It is the only cleanser I have used that balances and controls inflammation whilst effectively cleansing my skin. Next I follow up with Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Facial Oil ($22 or $59 from Sephora). It is the only moisturizer I will ever use. It nourishes the skin with omegas 3, 6, 7, 9 which help to reduce inflammation and improve hydration levels. If you fear oils because of your oily skin, believe me when I say this leaves my skin far more balanced than any greasy moisturizer ever did.
In the evening, I use the same products, but start with L’Oreal Sublime Soft Gentle Micellar Makeup Removing Water ($10 from your local drugstore) to take off any CC cream or foundation I wore that day. This is such an essential step! I have been wasting so much cleanser over the years by forcing it to clean any makeup! The horror. As a treat to myself I use Shiseido Facial Cotton Pads ($11 from Sephora) to apply the micellar solution. The pads are thicker and denser, meaning they stand up to stubble and you only need one to take care of an entire face of makeup.
Have you tried any of these products? I never see anybody talking about Nude or Fresh, but they both have such nourishing, effective products that I cannot help but shower them with praise. If you have been seeing little results with a harsher skincare routine, I absolutely recommend trying something on the more nourishing side. Pamper your skin!
