Every family has their inherited list of products and brands which have been used for generations. For my family, one of those brands is Burt’s Bees. Their lip balms are worthy of the cult following they have developed, and there is always a fresh stick in my stocking come Christmas.
Burt’s Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk & Honey Body Lotion
$13 – Available in retail stores and online at Burt’s Bees or Well
I originally received this as a sample last year with another purchase. With the little cold-weather scare Toronto had last week I picked up the full size, so winter-ready I am. This is a luxurious lotion that smells like warm honey on a cold autumn day. It has milk, honey, coconut, grape seed oil and vitamin E to nourish and soften skin. It does not leave any residue on the skin, but still manages to keep my dry joints and hands moisturized. I read a few complaints on their website from customers about the smell being ‘cringe-worthy’, but to be honest one of those comments also said they apply the product to their face…so I think my opinion is a bit more trustworthy than those shady persons who believe body lotion is suitable for the face.
Burt’s Bees Refreshing Lip Balm with Pink Grapefruit
I would like to start this by admitting I have a slight addiction to Burt’s Bees lip balms. To illustrate my point, in my bedroom I have three stowed in various places to relegate dry lips to my nightmares. My favourite is the traditional beeswax, though this pink grapefruit is a close second. On my list to try are the honey, vanilla bean, and the coconut & pair varieties. In the past I have tried the pomegranate, which I found not thick enough for my preferences. No matter which you choose, I can guarantee a life-long addition. There is nothing more softening and nourishing for the lips than a Burt’s Bees lip balm.
If you are new to Burt’s Bees and just want to try something, I highly recommend their gift sets. My favourite is their Beeswax Bounty Classic
which includes three beeswax lip balms for the price of two. My mother also adores their Lip Shimmer (cool
shades), which come in numerous shades and are a nice way to nourish the lips while adding a bit of colour.
Disclaimer: All products mentioned have been purchased by me. I have no relationship with Burt’s Bees. All opinions are my own.
It has been a sad, frustrating journey for me with blogs. I think the longest I have had one has been a full year, but then either one of two things happen: My aesthetic changes and I suddenly hate all of my posts, or I suddenly become far too cheap to pay for another year of hosting. To be honest it’s mostly the latter. So, here I am on Blogger again with a wonderful theme I purchased a while ago (so now it’s vintage
) from Blog Milk
. I have no master plan for this blog, because in my honest opinion I think blogging is already in its demise, I just want a spot to share what I am creating.
I filmed an autumn haul video today, filled with a few too many things I have purchased for my wardrobe and skincare/beauty routine. You can find the details of what I mentioned in the YouTube video’s description. Needless to say, the next ‘haul’ video I will be doing won’t be until after Christmas. Now all I have to do is think up of what to create next…
